Beaba is recalling its baby food steamer and cooker blenders due to a laceration hazard. According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, the glass bowl can break and potentially lacerate the individual using it.
The recall includes nearly 5,000 units of the product, of which 650 were sold in Canada. There have been 300 reports of the glass bowl shattering with three reports including injuries.
The recall, issued on May 15 by the CPSC, includes the Beaba Babycook Neo Midnight and Cloud baby food makers that steam and blend food. The small device is only 9 inches high by 9 inches wide, with a detachable glass bowl.
The Midnight version comes in dark blue with a white handled glass bowl (#912645), while the Cloud is white with a gray handled glass bowl (#912646). Reference numbers can be found on the bottom.
The Beaba Babycook Neo was sold at the following stores from July 2018 to February 2019 for anywhere between $200 and $250:
