Unlike electric pressure cookers, Mirro is a simple device that sits atop a stove to build up heat. The lid is held tight in place by a clamping mechanism which is secured snugly to the top. It comes with safety features such as a removable self-sealing gasket and safety fuse, but does not guarantee impunity from harm.
