Ninja Foodi Facts
Ninja Foodi is one of the best-selling items in the modern era of electric pressure cookers. On Amazon.com, Ninja is often the only brand to break into the top 10 bestselling pressure cooker list aside from Instant Pot, the industry leader.
Traditional pressure cookers, which heated on the stovetop and were known to occasionally blow their lid, scared even many of the bravest home chefs.
Ninja Foodi offers a simpler, more effective process, one that the brand’s manufacturer claims is not only safer than traditional pressure cooking, but essentially foolproof. And Ninja Foodi comes well-reviewed, both on Amazon.com, and by Women’s Health magazine, where one writer called it a “powerhouse appliance” that “does basically everything.”
As well it should, at this price. Retailing at up to $400 for some models, Ninja Foodi costs more than twice as much as some of its competitors. Despite the price tag, Johnson//Becker clients allege their Ninja Foodi came with dangerous defects that turned this luxury appliance into a dangerous countertop liability.
Ninja Foodi Safety Claims
In Ninja Foodi YouTube videos, viewers are told of a key safety mechanism that takes effect when the cooker has pressurized. “Once your unit has reached a high enough level of pressure, the lid will lock for your safety, and you will not be able to unlock it until the pressure has been released.” The same information is provided to new Ninja Foodi users reading their owner’s manual.
However, despite these comforting words, plaintiffs around the country are alleging that these safety features have malfunction, putting home chefs at risk as the contents of the Ninja Foodi come spewing out at temperatures well above the boiling point.
Ninja Foodi: Failing Right Out of the Box
These failures cause painful burning, can leave permanent scars and occur through no fault of the user.
In the case of one Johnson//Becker client, she had only just unboxed her Ninja Foodi, and was injured by water she had boiled to sanitize the pressure cooker. As the scalding hot contents of water erupted out of the cooker, the customer slipped and fell. Before she had prepared a single meal with her Ninja Foodi, the woman was in the hospital seeking treatment for burns and a broken shoulder.
Our law firm has filed numerous Ninja Foodi pressure cooker lawsuits on behalf of injured clients against SharkNinja, the manufacturer of Ninja Foodi, and continue to file lawsuits on behalf of new clients.

Ninja Foodi Lawsuits Filed by Johnson//Becker Lawyers
Ninja Foodi injuries should come as a shock to customers who know its maker’s claims of safe operation, both in its marketing materials and owner’s manual.
As our lawyers stated in one recent Ninja Foodi lawsuit filing, we believe that Ninja Foodi’s “defects make them unreasonably dangerous for their intended use by consumers because the lid can be rotated and opened while the unit remains pressurized.”
In addition, as alleged in one recent Complaint involving Ninja Foodi, its manufacturer’s safety claims are “not just misleading, they are flatly wrong, and put innocent consumers… directly in harm’s way.”
SharkNinja’s financial success should not come at the expense of injured customers. Our law firm has represented numerous Ninja Foodi customers seeking compensation for their injuries including medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, scarring and other negative impacts related to the incident caused by their exploding Ninja Foodi pressure cooker.
These damages are not just skin deep or financial in nature. A man permanently scarred by his injuries now feels uncomfortable taking his shirt off at the beach. One client had to miss an annual Thanksgiving dinner she prepares for members of the military. Another woman was forced to risk exposure to COVID-19 by visiting a hospital just days after the first documented pandemic death in the United States.
Complaints & Case Repository – Ninja Foodi Litigation Documents
Though each Ninja Foodi case has its own facts and details, our law firm has repeatedly found what we are alleging are the same flaws in design and manufacturing leading to customer injuries.
Below is a list of just some of the more recent lawsuits our lawyers have filed against SharkNinja. Please feel free to review the complaints to learn more.
- A February 2022 lawsuit against the Ninja Foodi manufacturer on behalf of a Georgia woman.
- An exploding Ninja Foodi pressure cooker that burned a California woman in February 2020, two years before she filed her lawsuit.
- A Texas woman who sued SharkNinja alleging “serious and substantial burn injuries” suffered in October 2020.

- A March 2022 lawsuit against SharkNinja on behalf of a New Jersey man injured two years earlier by a Ninja Foodi pressure cooker.
- A California man’s March 2020 Ninja Foodi burn injury causing “severe, disfiguring burns.”
Will my Ninja Foodi Lawsuit be Handled Individually or as Part of a Class Action Lawsuit?
Johnson//Becker will handle and file your case individually, giving your case the individual care and attention you deserve. Our lawyers feel strongly that it is not in our clients’ best interest to file or join a Ninja Foodi class action lawsuit for two reasons. First, class actions are designed to address damages that are usually economic in nature, not personal injuries, the severity and effect of which will vary from person to person. In other words, what is a fair resolution in one case may not be a fair resolution in another case. In addition, in a class action, the control and decision-making process is consolidated with one “Class Representative”, who oversees making decisions for everyone in the class. If that Class Representative is not you, someone you have never met and who has no incentive to put your best interests first will get to make the decisions that will affect your case.
Finally, we feel strongly that it is in our client’s best interest to file an individual lawsuit, as class action lawsuits in product liability personal injury cases typically result in far lower settlements. At Johnson//Becker, PLLC our goal is to maximize compensation for our clients, and for this reason we only file individual Ninja Foodi lawsuits.
