Tommy Bahama, Martha Stewart Nest Swing Egg Chair Recall Lawsuit

The manufacturer of an egg chair sold by both Tommy Bahama and Martha Stewart has issued a recall, effective June 16, 2022, citing the risk of injury to people when the chair tips forward or collapses.

Product Recall

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of nest swing egg chairs by TJK, which makes the egg chairs sold at Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods and Homesense. The recall affects more than 30,000 of the chairs purchased from December 2018 through April 2022.

The egg chairs, which retailed at up to $350, are oval-shaped wicker seats which attach by a chain to a metal pole for rocking or swinging. Customers are advised to contact the store they purchased a Tommy Bahama or Martha Stewart brand egg chair from and get a full refund or store credit.

TJK Nest Swing Egg Chair Fall Injuries Prompts Recall Announcement

According to reports, at least 27 of the chairs have either collapsed or tipped over, causing at least 19 injuries. The most serious injuries reported included a collapsed lung and broken ribs.
