Trek Road Bikes & Handlebars Recall Lawsuit

The defective handlebars have cracked a reported 37 times, according to the recall.

Trek Bicycle Corporation has recalled two models of its road bikes and a set of handlebars, citing the risk of falling or crashing.

According to the recall announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the risk occurs because the “carbon handlebars can crack, posing fall and crash hazards.”

The recall affects about 3,200 bicycles sold in the United States, plus an additional 900 handlebars sold separately as an aftermarket accessory. The bicycles recalled were sold between May 2020 and June 2022, and fall under the following models:Trek Recalls Road Bikes, Handlebars

The recalled handlebars were marketed as the Bontrager Aeolus RSL VR-C handlebar/stem.

The defective handlebars have cracked a reported 37 times, according to the recall, and caused at least one accident, resulting in scrapes and bruises to the rider.

Customers who purchased the recalled bicycles or handlebars should stop riding the bikes immediately and contact their local Trek retailer to inquire about free repair.
