Johnson Health Tech has recalled Horizon Fitness Treadmills, citing the risk of a fall hazard.
According to the announcement made through the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the treadmills can “unexpectedly accelerate, change speed, or stop without user input.”
About 192,000 Horizon Fitness treadmills sold between March 2018 and October 2022 are affected by the recall. The fitness devices were sold at Dick’s Sporting Goods, at Johnson’s Fitness & Wellness stores, and on Amazon.com, among other retailers.
Consumers are instructed to stop using the treadmills immediately. Horizon has received 874 reports of treadmills malfunctioning, resulting in at least 71 injuries, including two broken bones.
