Yamaha’s Viking Side-by-Sides have been recalled due to the risk of crash and injury. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC are currently accepting new Yamaha Viking lawsuits. Learn more below.

Yamaha recalled their Viking Side-by-Side vehicles due to crash risk, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall started on Dec. 29, 2022.

Why did Yamaha recall their Viking side-by-sides?

Due to improper installation of bolts, the parking brake could fail to hold the vehicle in place. The vehicle could unintentionally move, posing a crash and injury hazard.

While there were no reported crash incidents or accident injuries, Yamaha initiated the recall to avoid such incidents since it was an installation issue.

500 units were included in this recall. It was sold from July 2022 through October 2022 from Yamaha Motor Corporation USA of Cypress, California.

Yamaha has the recall notice of the Viking Off-Road on their website under the Side-by-Side recalls.

Which Yamaha Viking models are included in this recall?

There are two different types of this product; the three-passenger, and the six-passenger.

The three-passenger Side-by-Side consists of model numbers YXM70VPANG (Viking EPS) and YXM70VPRNC (Viking EPS Ranch).

The six-passenger Side-by-Side consists of model numbers; YXC70VPXNG/YXC70VPHNH (Viking VI EPS) and YXC70VPRNC (Viking VI EPS Ranch).

Products listed above were sold in three colors: Copper Metallic, Hunter Green, and Tactical Green.

The model name is printed on the right and left sides of the vehicle, with the model number on the top of the airbox (or chamber within the combustion engine).

Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) can be found on the frame behind the left rear wheel. To determine the VIN of their product, consumers can consult the CPSC recall webpage. There is a chart detailing the listed VIN ranges for each of the recalled Yamaha models.

If a consumer’s model has one of the listed VIN numbers or is the same model, they should stop use immediately.
