Chervon’s EGO Power+ Model Cordless Brushless hedge trimmers have been recalled due to the risk of injuries. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) posted the recall on June 1, 2023.
Why were Chervon’s hedge trimmers recalled?
According to the CPSC, the recalled hedge trimmers’ rear switch can fail to rebound after activation. The product could start up without warning, posing a risk of gashing or slicing upon the consumer.
The company received 34 reports of hedge trimmers suddenly starting up, including eight reports of cuts that required medical treatment.
Around 85,000 hedge trimmers were recalled, with an additional 4,000 in Canada.
What hedge trimmer models are included in the recall?
The recall includes EGO Power+ Model HT2410 Cordless Brushless hedge trimmers with date codes from September 2017 through March 2019. The model number is HT2410.
The CPSC advises consumers to immediately cease use of the recalled hedge trimmers.
