On June 15, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall of Trek bikes’ Promax hydraulic disc brakes due to crash hazards.
Why did the CPSC recall the Trek disc brakes?
According to the CPSC, the brake hoses on the Trek bicycles could detach from the brake lever, posing a crash hazard.
Trek received 195 reports of brake hoses detaching.
Around 96,900 units were included in this recall.
What models are included in the Trek disc brake recall?
The recall includes bikes with revision 1 of the Promax Solve DSK-925 and Promax F1 DSK-927 disc brakes installed on recalled models.
Three model years are included in the recall, with specific model identifiers for each year.
