On July 6, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Woom’s Original kids’ bicycles due to fall hazards.
Why were Woom’s kids bikes recalled?
According to the CPSC, the kids’ bike stem and the handlebar could detach while riding. Kids using the bike could fall and become injured.
The CPSC received 77 reports of handlebar stems detaching or loosening. There have been 19 injuries reported to date.
Approximately 84,000 bikes were included in the recall, with an additional 533 bikes in Canada.
Which models of the Woom kids’ bikes were recalled?
The recall includes all models of Woom Original bikes from 2018 through 2021. These kids’ bikes were designed for kids between 18 months (about one and a half years) and 14 years of age.
The models recalled were sold in seven versions: Woom 1, Woom 1 Plus, Woom 2, Woom 3, Woom 4, Woom 5 and Woom 6. These were sold in the following colors: red, green, blue, purple and yellow.

The CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled bicycles.
