The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Whirlpool’s ADC commercial clothes dryers due to fire hazards. The recall was posted on Sept. 7, 2023.
According to the CPSC, ADC’s clothes dryers could overheat and ignite the contents inside, starting a fire.
Whirlpool has received 41 reports of incidents linked to the clothes dryers.
Approximately 2,500 units have been recalled.
What models of commercial clothes dryers have been recalled?
The recall affects all ADC brand commercial clothes dryers which have a 30-pound capacity. ADC’s coin-operated dryers were used in commercial settings, such as multi-unit housing, laundromats, and other commercial facilities.
The recall includes model numbers:
- ADG-30X2R
- ADG-30X2Ri
The CPSC advises distributors, owners and laundry operators to immediately stop using the recalled models of ADC’s commercial clothes dryers.
