The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Specialized Bicycle Components’ Supacaz brand bike pedals due to fall hazards. The recall was initiated on Nov. 30, 2023.
According to the CPSC, the bike pedal can detach from the spindle, or the spindle can break, posing a risk of falling during use.
The CPSC has received 21 reports of the Supacaz bike pedals breaking.
Approximately 3,000 bikes were recalled, with an additional 169 in Canada and seven in Mexico.
The recall includes all Supacaz Orbitron bike pedals, which are multicolored and made of alloy.
The CPSC advises consumers to stop using the recalled bike pedals immediately.
