On Dec. 7, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Ergodyne’s Squids wire tool attachments with screw gate tool tails due to injury hazards.

Wire tool attachments are designed to securely tether tools when the user is working at heights, intended to prevent the tools from falling from high places.

According to the CPSC, the wire tool attachment can break when dropped while still tethered to a tool, posing a risk of injury to bystanders.

Approximately 16,570 products with the model number 3705 are affected by the recall, with an additional 790 in Canada. The CPSC advises consumers to stop using the wire tool attachments immediately.
