Empower Air Fryer Recall Lawsuit

On Dec. 14, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Empower Brands’ Power XL Dual Basket air fryers due to risks of burn injuries.

According to the CPSC, the plastic U-Channel connector used to combine the two food baskets inside the air fryer can break, posing a burn injury hazard.

The CPSC received 41 reports of Empower Brands’ air fryer breaking during use, as well as three burn injuries. Approximately 319,000 air fryers are included in the recall.

The recall includes two models of the Power XL dual-basket air fryer, which were sold in colors black or cinnamon.

The model numbers include:

  • 10-quart DUAF-10
  • 9-quart DUAF-005

The CPSC advises consumers to stop using the affected air fryers immediately.
