Medline Portable Bed Rail Recall Lawsuit

Medline’s Bed Assist Bars have been recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) after two deaths resulting from entrapment and asphyxia hazards. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC, are currently accepting new lawsuits for the recalled Medline Bed Assist Bar adult bed rails. Learn more below.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), when the bed rails are attached to an adult’s bed, users can become trapped between the bed rail and the side of the mattress. The May 30, 2024, recall includes over 1.5 million bed rails. The CPSC warns consumers to stop using these bed rails immediately.

The recalled bed rails are sold in two model numbers, MDS6800BA and MDS6800BAH. The models are identical, but MDS6800BA is sold individually, while MDS6800BAH is sold in a set of three. The bed rails are made of black metal and have a rounded black foam rubber grip handle. The model number and “Medline” are printed on a label found on the support frame.

The bed rails were sold online between July 2019 and March 2024 at Medline.com, Athome.medline.com, Amazon.com, Walmart.com, CVS.com, and Walgreens.com. They were also sold at medical supply stores nationwide, including Cascade Healthcare Solutions and Magic Medical.
