According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the T-bar located at the front middle of the chair can become loose and fall or break off while the high chair is in use, posing a fall hazard to children. The July 25, 2024 recall includes about 27,140 chairs. There have been nine reports of the T-bar coming loose or breaking off, resulting in multiple injuries to children. The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the high chairs immediately.
The recall involves 12 models of Lancaster Table & Seating Standard Height Plastic Restaurant High Chairs. The following item numbers are included in the recall: 274HCBKWTASM, 274HCHRWHLBK, 274HCBKTRASM, 274HCHAIRBK, 274HCGYWTASM, 274HCHRWHLGY, 274HCGYTRASM, 274HCHAIRGY, 274HCBRWTASM, 274HCHRWHLBR, 274HCBRTRASM, 274HCHAIRBR. The item number is printed on the warning label found on the back of the seatback. The chairs are brown, black, or gray. The chairs were sold at The Restaurant Store nationwide and online at therestaurantstore.com, webstaurantstore.com, clarkfoodserviceequipment.biz, quicksupply.com, and hometownprovisions.net from June 2014 through January 2024 for between $65 and $135.
