Milo’s Poultry Farms and Tony’s Fresh Market Egg Recall Lawsuit

The U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) upgraded a September 6, 2024, recall, making it a Class I recall. A Class-I designation is the most serious level in that the product “will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.”

According to the FDA, Milo’s Poultry Farms, LLC. of Bonduel, WI, is recalling all “Milo’s Poultry Farms” and “Tony’s Fresh Market” branded eggs because these eggs have the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella. This organism can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain.

The eggs from Milo’s Poultry Farms were distributed in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan. The original recall notification stated that 65 people in nine states were infected with salmonella linked to these eggs. The FDA announcement includes all carton sizes with expiration dates of October 12, 2024, and earlier. The FDA has linked salmonella outbreaks from Milo’s Poultry Farms to the following states:

  • California
  • Colorado
  • Iowa
  • Illinois
  • Michigan
  • Minnesota
  • Utah
  • Virginia
  • Wisconsin

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Protection (CDC), symptoms can appear between six hours and six days after infection.
