According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the recalled helmets do not comply with the positional stability, retention system, impact, labeling, and certification requirements of the mandatory federal safety regulations for bicycle helmets. The helmets can fail to protect the wearer in the event of a crash, posing a risk of a head injury.
The October 10, 2024, recall includes about 400 helmets. The helmets were sold in medium and large. The helmets are black, with black padding, black straps, and a black buckle. “DROYD” is printed on the back of the bike helmet. The helmets were sold online at Droyd.com from October 2023 through July 2024 for about $40.
