Bauer 20V Battery-Powered 4-Gallon Backpack Sprayers Recall Lawsuit

Harbor Freight Tools has recalled its Bauer 20V Battery-Powered 4-Gallon Backpack Sprayers. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC, are currently accepting new cases for recalled battery-powered sprayers.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the sprayer pump on the backpack can leak chemicals into the battery compartment. It can cause the battery to overheat, posing a fire hazard.

The October 31, 2024, recall includes about 53,000 Bauer 20V Cordless 4-Gallon Backpack Sprayers. The sprayer is a chemical sprayer powered by a 20V rechargeable lithium-ion battery and allows a user to wear the backpack and continuously spray liquids. The product measures approximately 21 inches tall x 13 inches deep x 15 inches wide. The sprayer is black, white, and red. Bauer is printed on the back of the product. The item number (58671) and UPC (193175443663) can be found on a label on the bottom of the battery compartment.

There have been at least eight reports of the battery overheating, including reports of smoking, melting, and fire.

The sprayers were sold at Harbor Freight Tools stores nationwide and online at Harborfreight.com from March 2022 through September 2024 for between $80 and $120.
