What is the Problem?
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the clutch cable can break on the recalled Kubota Utility Tractors, resulting in reduced braking power, posing a crash hazard. The February 20, 2025, recall includes about 2,600 tractors. There have been at least 33 reports of the clutch breaking on the Kubota tractors. The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the tractors immediately.
Is My Tractor Included in the Recall?
The Kubota tractors have an 8-speed gear drive transmission, a 55-horsepower Kubota 4-cylinder direct engine, and a cab. The model MX5400DTC Kubota Utility Tractor is sold in orange and has “KUBOTA” printed in white lettering on the chassis. The tractors were sold at authorized Kubota dealers nationwide from February 2020 through December 2024 for between $43,000 and $63,000.
