ST. PAUL, Minn. — Johnson//Becker, PLLC, is a nationwide products liability law firm with experience representing victims of pressure cooker explosions. The firm represents over 700 clients who have been severely burned by exploding pressure cookers designed and sold by numerous manufacturers.
Johnson//Becker, PLLC is representing over 20 cases in the Florida State Consolidation against Sunbeam Products, Inc. Clients in these cases have suffered injuries from Sunbeam’s Crock-Pot Express Crock Multicooker explosions.
Johnson//Becker has filed over 10 pressure cooker cases in other jurisdictions across the U.S. The law firm has two separate ongoing consolidations in the Florida Federal Court, adding 15 more clients.
Johnson//Becker filed Complaints on behalf of Ms. Conder of Salt Lake City, and Ms. Alegre of Los Angeles, two clients involved in the consolidation.
Both clients experienced painful bodily injuries from their Crock-Pots, which exploded while they were cooking. The clients’ Complaints stated they suffered serious burn injuries as a “result of the Pressure Cooker’s lid being able to be rotated and opened while [it] was under pressure.” The allowing its scalding hot contents to fly out onto the Plaintiffs.
The Complaints also allege that the pressure cooker is unsafe to use, pointing out faulty safety measures.
Conder’s incident occurred on Nov. 22, 2020, just two days before the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Sunbeam’s Crock-Pot on Nov. 24, 2020. Alegre’s incident occurred the same day of the recall. The CPSC announced the recall of over 900,000 Crock-Pots after receiving 119 reports of lid detachments. 99 burn injuries from Sunbeam’s products were reported, ranging from first-degree to third-degree burns.
Both Plaintiffs submitted Complaints in accordance with the Johnson//Becker law firm. The Complaints stated that “Despite Defendant Sunbeam’s claims of ‘safety,’ it designed, manufactured, marketed, imported, distributed and sold, both directly and through third-party retailers, a product that suffers from serious and dangerous defects.”
Johnson//Becker attorney Lisa A. Gorshe filed Conder and Alegre’s Complaints on Nov. 3, 2022. As the Managing Attorney of Johnson//Becker, PLLC, she practices product liability cases, with an emphasis on dangerous and defective products.
