Coborn’s Inc. issued a recall over its chicken salad products due to possible listeria contamination. The supplier of the ready-to-eat chicken, Tip Top Poultry Inc., initiated its own recall of its chicken products, of which Coborn’s is a client.
The recall involves a hefty lot of salads, spread, sandwiches, cold chicken, and pasta products. The food was distributed and sold a Coborn’s and Cash Wise stores in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota; and Marketplace Foods stores in Western Wisconsin, between January 21, 2019 and September 24, 2019.
Current products are not affected, only those between the dates mentioned before. Many of the products were available to order online. Though no one has reported any illness, if you fell victim of Listeria monocytogenes between those dates, you may be entitled to file a lawsuit.

Listeria Food Poisoning
Listeria monocytogenes is an organism that can cause serious or sometimes fatal infections in those with compromised immune systems. Young children, frail or elderly persons, or those with weakened immune systems are especially susceptible.
The side effects of Listeria include high fever, severe headache, a still body, nausea, abdominal pain or diarrhea. Listeria is especially serious around women who are pregnant as it can cause miscarriages or stillbirth.
