On July 28, Lipari Foods, LLC along with sister company JLM, announced a recall that Listeria contamination may be present in its turkey and Swiss submarine sandwiches.
The products were sold under the names Premo Brand and Fresh Grab. The turkey and swiss subs were originally produced on July 17, 2018 and shipped for distribution on July 19.
The contamination was found during routine environmental monitoring and product testing.
An announcement on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration website said, “JLM employs a rigorous quality and testing program; however, despite the quality of their programs, they are initiating this recall out of an abundance of caution.”
They were distributed to food and retail stores in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

The side effects of Listeria include high fever, severe headache, a still body, nausea, abdominal pain or diarrhea. Listeria is especially serious around women who are pregnant as it can cause miscarriages or stillbirth.
