On June 8, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) posted a recall notice of Allied Air Enterprises Armstrong Air and Air Ease gas furnaces due to a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Why were the Allied Air Enterprises gas furnaces recalled?
According to the CPSC, there is a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning from a manufacturing error. Part of the furnace was improperly assembled, causing the furnace to produce high levels of carbon monoxide.
Around 9,255 units are included in the recall.
What models of the Allied Air Enterprises gas furnaces were recalled?
Two brand names, ARMSTRONG and AIREASE, with the following model numbers have been recalled:
- A96UH1E045B12S
- A96UH1E070B12S
- A96UH1E110C20S
Model numbers can be found on the interior furnace door. The recalled model numbers were sold between September 2022 and March 2023.
The CPSC advises consumers to have working carbon monoxide detectors on each level of their homes and outside sleeping areas.
