Art of Green announced the recall of its laundry detergent products, citing the risk of bacterial infection that could be especially hazardous for people with underlying health conditions.
The recall affects 14,550 detergent products sold between April 2022 and October 2022. Recalled products include both the Free & Clear and Zen Lavender Garden scented detergents.
The recall was announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. According to the CPSC release:
“The recalled products can contain bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, an environmental organism found widely in soil and water. People with weakened immune systems or external medical devices who are exposed to Pseudomonas aeruginosa face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment. The bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or through a break in the skin.”
The products were sold online through Amazon.com, and in-person at Save Mart, Luck, and Food Maxx. Consumers in possession of recalled Art of Green detergent are instructed to stop using them immediately.
