On Jan. 9, 2024, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) recalled several hot sauce products due to risks of severe or life-threatening allergic reactions.
The FDA reported that the hot sauce manufacturer, Vesta Fiery Gourmet Foods, Inc., did not indicate on the product labels that the flour used in the hot sauce was wheat flour.
According to the FDA, consumers with a wheat allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat are at risk of severe allergic reactions, including death, if they consume any of the listed hot sauce products with corresponding UPC numbers:

- Benny T’s Vesta Scorpion | 7 94571 99491 1

The above products were distributed between Oct. 1, 2023, and Jan. 4, 2024. For more details about the recalled hot sauce products, consult the FDA’s official recall notice on their website.
The FDA advises consumers not to use the recalled hot sauce and properly discard the products.
