Chamberlain Group recalled their LiftMaster garage door control panels due to entrapment dangers. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) posted the recall on Feb. 9, 2023.
Why were the control panels recalled?
The garage control panel comes with a protection system, which can fail to sense an obstruction in its path posing an entrapment risk. Serious injury could happen as a consequence.
The recall, issued on Feb. 9, 2023, affects approximately 96,400 units. About 19,300 were sold in Canada.
No incidents or injuries have been reported to the CPSC.
What models are included in the recall?
The official product name is: LiftMaster myQ Garage Door Control Panels. They may have been sold individually or with a wall-mount residential jackshaft garage door opener.
All model numbers beginning with “MC” and manufactured between March 2022 and October 2022 have been recalled, according to Chamberlain Group’s website.
