On Sept. 14, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Buffalo Games’ Chuckle & Roar Ultimate water beads activity kits due to serious risks of ingestion, choking, and obstruction hazards.
According to the CPSC, if a child swallows one of the water beads in the activity kits, the water bead can expand and pose ingestion, choking, or intestinal obstruction hazards. This can result in severe discomfort, vomiting, dehydration, and a risk of death to a child.
In July 2023, Buffalo Games received one report of death to a 10-month-old child due to swallowing one of the water beads in the recalled activity kits. Additionally, a 9-month-old child was seriously injured in November 2022 after ingesting water beads, resulting in intestinal obstruction. The child required surgery to remove the water beads.
Approximately 52,000 units have been recalled.
What products are included in the water bead activity kit recall?
