According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the pinwheel’s fastener cap can come loose and detach, potentially becoming a choking hazard for young children. The pinwheels were given away as a promotional item at Cotton On stores. The pinwheels are multi-colored and have “KIDS” and “COTTON ON” in white letters written on them.
The May 9, 2024, recall involves about 8,500 toy pinwheels. The CPSC warns consumers to throw these toys away immediately. One child has been reported swallowing a fastener cap.
The pinwheels were given away at Cotton On Kids Stores in Scottsdale, Arizona; Christiana, Delaware; Willowbrook, Texas; Florida Mall, Orlando, Florida; Cool Springs, Tennessee, and Mall of Louisiana, Franklin, Louisiana, from April 2023 through January 2024.
