Reckitt recalled their Enfamil ProSobee Simply Plant-Based infant formula due to serious risk of bacterial contamination. The voluntary recall was issued on Feb. 19, 2023 by Reckitt and the Food and Drug Administration. (FDA)

Why were the Enfamil ProSobee baby formulas recalled?

According to the CPSC, 145,000 cans of baby formula may have been tainted by the bacteria Cronobacter sakazakii.

While there have been no illness or incident reports from the baby formula, the company and the FDA are taking extra precautions. Infections in infants can be deadly.

What baby formula products were included in this recall?

The official name of the recalled baby formula is Enfamil ProSobee Simply Plant-Based Infant Formula.

The recall includes two batches of 12.9-ounce baby formula, manufactured between August 2022 and September 2022.

The recalled cans have the Universal Product Code 300871214415 and an expiration date of Mar. 1, 2023. The product batches are also labeled ZL2HZF and ZL2HZZ.

No other batches of the ProSobee Simply Plant-Based infant formula or other Reckitt products are impacted by the Feb. 19 recall.

Consumers in possession of the recalled code above should dispose of the product immediately.
