Colgate-Palmolive recalled five Fabuloso products since they posed a risk of bacterial infection. This recall was in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on Feb. 8, 2023.
Why were the Fabuloso products recalled?
The product can contain Pseudomonas species bacteria, along with Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Pseudomonas fluorescens.
If the bacteria contained in these products enter the body by inhalation, through the eyes, or a cut in the skin, consumers could get seriously infected.
Individuals who have weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or lung conditions are at risk of serious infection. Consumers could end up requiring medical treatment if exposed to bacteria.
4.9 million units in the U.S. and 56,000 in Canada were included in this recall. They were sold from Dec. 14, 2022 through Jan. 23, 2023 on Amazon, Dollar General, Home Depot, Sam’s Club, and Walmart.
What Fabuloso models were recalled?
The recalled products include five scents: Lavender, Refreshing Lemon, Passion of Fruits, Spring Fresh, and Ocean.
The first eight digits of the recalled lot codes are 2348US78 through 2365US78 and 3001US78 through 3023US78.
The product lot code is located on the back of the bottle, toward the top of the label. The official names of the recalled products are as follows:
Lavender Scent:
- Fabuloso Original Multi-Purpose Cleaner, Lavender Scent, 22 FL OZ
- Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner 2X Concentrated Formula; 56 FL OZ, 128 FL OZ, 169 FL OZ
- Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner, 210 FL OZ
- Fabuloso Professional All-Purpose Cleaner & Degreaser, 1 GALLON
Refreshing Lemon Scent:
- Fabuloso Original Multi-Purpose Cleaner, 22 FL OZ
- Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner 2X Concentrated Formula; 33.8 FL OZ, 56 FL OZ, 128 FL OZ, 169 FL OZ
Passion of Fruits Scent:
- Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner 2X Concentrated Formula; 33.8 FL OZ, 56 FL OZ, 128 FL OZ, 169 FL OZ
Spring Fresh Scent:
- Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner Bleach Alternative 2X Concentrated Formula, 56 FL OZ
Ocean Scent:
- Fabuloso Professional All-Purpose Cleaner & Degreaser, 1 GALLON
