On June 29, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning to stop using Gorsetle US’ infant loungers due to a serious risk of suffocation and falling.
Why is there a warning associated with Gorsetle’s infant lounger products?
According to the CPSC, Gorsetle’s infant loungers fail to meet federal safety standards for infant sleep products. Key safety features for infant loungers include a stand, markings and labeling, instructional literature, and tracking labels. The CPSC has noted that Gorsetle’s infant loungers contain none of these.
Infants using these products could suffocate on the soft, fabric sides, or fall out of the lounger.
Which Gorsetle infant lounger products are included in the warning?
CPSC’s warning includes all of Gorsetle’s infant lounger products. These products include the following:
- Gorsetle Baby Loungers
- Portable Infant Floor Seat Ultra Soft & Breathable Newborn Lounger Baby Registry Essential Gift Great for Travel and Tummy Time (Crown)
The loungers were sold in three different fabrics:
- Crown
- Jungle Animal
- Little Elephant
The company Gorsetle US is not cooperating in recalling their products, according to the CPSC.
Gorsetle’s infant loungers are sold exclusively on Amazon. The CPSC urges consumers to immediately stop using the loungers and destroy the product by cutting the fabric and disposing of it.
