On Nov. 2, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Grizzly Industrial and Shop Fox’s wood lathes due to injury hazards.

Wood lathes are tools used to shape wood into cylindrical shapes.

According to the CPSC, the wood lathes’ cutting tools can break, posing an injury hazard. Pieces of the cutting tool could eject from the tool onto the user or bystanders and pose a laceration (cutting the skin) hazard to consumers.

Grizzly Industrial has received four reports of the cutting tool breaking and one injury.

Approximately 21,300 units were recalled, with an additional 60 in Canada.

What models are included in the wood lathes recall?

The recall includes the following models:

Grizzly Green Wood Lathe

  • Grizzly Industrial | G0584
  • Grizzly Industrial | G0462
  • Shop Fox | W1758

The CPSC advises consumers to stop using the recalled wood lathes immediately.
