Harbor Freight Tools recalled a replacement lower blade guard for the Chicago Electric miter saw due to inadequate protection for the user and injury risk. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) posted the recall on Feb. 23, 2023.
Why were the lower blade guards recalled?
According to the CPSC, the replacement lower blade guards do not properly cover the saw blades and can break while cutting, posing a serious laceration injury to the user.
Harbor Freight Tools received at least one report of the Chicago Electric Power Tools brand 12-inch Double Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saws replacement guard breaking.
Approximately 7,175 units are included in this recall.
What models were recalled?
Only the guards purchased during or after August 2019 are a part of the recall.
The CPSC advises that consumers should immediately stop using these recalled blade guards.
