The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Home Design’s upholstered low-profile standard and platform beds due to risks of falling and injuries. The recall was posted on Jan. 18, 2024.
According to the CPSC, the recalled beds can break or collapse during use, posing an injury hazard to users.
Home Design has received 128 incident reports of beds breaking, sagging, or collapsing during use. Home Design has also received 36 injury reports.
Approximately 527,177 beds are included in the recall, with an additional 55,847 sold in Canada.

The recall affects the following bed models with their corresponding part numbers:
- Tufted Upholstered Low Profile Standard Beds | 80002
- Tufted Upholstered Low Profile Standard Beds | 80032
- Tufted Upholstered Low Profile Standard Beds | 80055
- Tufted Upholstered Low Profile Platform Beds | 80071
- Tufted Upholstered Low Profile Platform Beds | 80053
