According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the silicone cover on the sipper part of the water bottle can detach while in use, posing a choking hazard. The May 2, 2024, recall involves about 32,000 water bottles.
The CPSC warns consumers to take the water bottles away from children, and to stop using them immediately. There has been one report of an incident in which the silicone sleeve became detached from the sipper.
The word “IGLOO” is printed on the side of the stainless-steel bottle. The bottle’s lid has a silicone cover on the sipper. The drink bottles were sold in various colors including pink top and purple body; purple top and pink body; blue top and green body; and green top and blue body. The recalled bottles were sold at Academy Sports + Outdoors, Rural King, and online at igloocoolers.com from April 2023 through March 2024 for between $13 and $17.
