IKEA has recalled a line of espresso makers, citing the risk of potential burn injuries caused by explosion.
METALLISK espresso makers with a stainless steel safety valve pose a potential hazard to customers, according to a recall issued by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). IKEA is recalling 2,100 of the products, which retailed for about $20 and sold between September 2020 and January 2022.
IKEA has received 16 reports of the espresso makers busting, leading to burns, scalding, and hearing damage.
Customers who purchased the METALLISK with a date stamp between 2040 and 2204 should stop using the espresso maker, and can return it to an IKEA store for a refund.
