The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled specific models of John Deere utility vehicles on June 8, 2023. The vehicles were recalled due to fire hazards.
Why were the John Deere utility vehicles recalled?
According to the CPSC, there is a fire hazard with the recalled utility vehicles. Fuel could leak from the fuel cap and cause a fire.
Approximately 1,600 units are included in the recall, with an additional 60 in Canada.
Which John Deere utility vehicle models are included in the recall?
Recalled utility vehicles have model numbers XUV590E, XUV590M OR XUV590M S4 printed on the hood.
The vehicles came in green and yellow, olive and black, or camo colors. The vehicles also have side-by-side seating for two to four people.
Serial numbers can be found on the vehicle frame to the right of the rear hitch receiver. The following serial numbers are included in the recall:
- 1M0590EA+PM060098 through PM060266
- 1M0590ED+PM060005 through PM060027
- 1M0590MA+PM060654 through PM061746
1M0590MA+PM061746 - 1M0590MD+PM060005 through PM060017
- 1M0590MB+PM060225 through PM060631
- 1M0590ME+PM060009 through PM060015
The CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled utility vehicles.
