Kenmore Elite Microwave Recall Lawsuit

Do you own a Kenmore Elite Microwave? An electrical wiring issue can cause it to reach temperatures over 185 degrees, posing a serious burn injury.

On Nov. 14, 2019, Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of an exclusive microwave that was sold at Sears and Sears Hometown and/or Outlet Stores nationwide. The Kenmore Elite 1,000-watt countertop convection microwave oven was recalled because it poses a burn hazard to the user.

The microwave was found to have incorrect wiring on its exterior. This can cause it to reach temperatures exceeding 183 degrees Fahrenheit, posing a serious burn hazard to the user(s). There have been about 700 units recalled from the consumer market.

The model number of this microwave is: 204.77603610

The microwave can be identified by the first six digits of the serial number, 170427. The serial number range that is affected by this recall is 17042700001 and 17042700684. The brand name, serial number, and model number can be found on the data plate on the back of the microwave.

If you own one of these Kenmore Elite microwaves, you should immediately stop using it and contact Sears for a free in-home repair. They were sold in stores between May 2017 and July 2018 for about $350.
