Machir Biometric Safe Recall Lawsuit

Machir Biometric Personal Safes have been recalled. The lockers can fail and be opened by unauthorized users, posing a risk of severe injury or death if the safe is used to store firearms. The February 22, 2024, recall involves about 25,000 vaults. The safes are intended to secure personal items, including firearms, safely. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the safes’ biometric locks can be opened by unintended users. The following serial numbers are included in the recall:

The serial number is located on the lower right-hand corner of the front door of the safe. The safes are about 10 inches by 14 inches by 10 inches.

The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the recalled safes’ biometric feature. Fifteen reports of unauthorized users opening the gun safes have been made. The safes were sold at Walmart stores nationwide and online at Walmart.com and Machir.com from July 2019 through at least September 2021 for about $98.
