On Jan. 23, 2024, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) issued a serious warning to consumers to avoid purchasing Neptune’s Fix and similar tianeptine products due to serious health risks.
According to the FDA, products containing tianeptine are a potentially dangerous substance that is not FDA-approved. Products containing tianeptine are sold illegally to improve brain function and treat anxiety, depression, pain, opioid use disorder, and similar conditions.
As of late January 2024, the FDA has received several reports of consumers suffering seizures, loss of consciousness, and dying after using Neptune’s Fix or similar tianeptine products. The FDA published an article stating the health risks of tianeptine products, including the potential for abuse.
The FDA also stated that tianeptine products can also affect other medications in life-threatening ways. The agency is working with local and state health departments to investigate the reports.
Neptune Resources, LLC voluntarily recalled all lots and models of the following products:
- Neptune’s Fix Elixir
- Neptune’s Fix Extra Strength Elixir
- Neptune’s Fix Tablets
The FDA urges consumers who experience a bad reaction to any tianeptine product to seek medical attention immediately. The agency also advises consumers to dispose of all recalled products immediately.
