NutriBullet blenders have received a multitude of lawsuits in the past few years due to defects causing consumers to become injured. In the case a NutriBullet blender explodes, nearby consumers could receive severe cuts and injuries requiring medical attention.

Manufactured by Capital Brands, LLC., the “bullet” systems are sold online and in stores across the world.

NutriBullet comes in the following models:

  • NutriBullet Original
  • NutriBullet Balance
  • NutriBullet Rx
  • NutriBullet Pro 900 Series

The company prides itself on “..providing versatile, unique, and high-quality products at affordable prices.” However, a number of consumers claim the company is selling a dangerous product susceptible to explosions.

Both NutriBullet class action and individual NutriBullet lawsuits have been filed in regard to the alleged dangers of the blenders. They claim the canister separates from the base during operation due to a pressure buildup.

When this happens, the contents can explode and detach, putting the user’s hands and fingers at risk of severe injuries including cuts and lacerations. Lawyers for the injured consumers say the injuries have resulted in burns, cuts, lacerations and more. Multiple claimants have ended up with severe nerve damage to the affected areas.

Our lawyers already represent a number of injured consumers who were victims of the dangerous and defective blenders. We are handling exploding Nutribullet litigation Nationwide.

In April 2018, FOX 11 Los Angeles published an investigative report on NutriBullet lawsuits after it obtained a test video showing how the device explodes under various circumstances. The 8-minute video can be seen below.

Two years ago, a woman named Laura Lambros filed a lawsuit against the company for injuries she suffered from using an older NutriBullet model. During the discovery phase of the trial, test videos of the product were released which show the NutriBullet exploding under various conditions.

In July 2018, a South Carolina woman filed a NutriBullet class action lawsuit after her NutriBullet 900 Series caused her to suffer first- and second-degree burns to her arms and chest. She had been blending water, walnuts, sea moss and cinnamon for roughly 60 seconds when the blender exploded.

There have been class action lawsuits filed in the past few years on the NutriBullet blenders. One such class action lawsuit was filed in the California Circuit Court, alleging that the NutriBullet has design defects. The 64-page Complaint further alleges that the defects in the blenders causes the contents to overheat and explode without warning. According to the class action, the NutriBullet manufacturers knew about the defective products and failed to warn consumers for years.

These are a handful of examples of how NutriBullet has injured consumers across the country. The numbers continue to grow as users unexpectedly sustain burns and cuts from using the product.

The makers of NutriBullet indicate these are isolated incidents and not a common occurrence. However, their products recently started coming out with warnings on the devices such as, “Do not operate continuously for more than one minute” and “NEVER blend warm, hot or carbonated ingredients.” Hot ingredients can create an internal pressure inside the canister, resulting in explosions similar to the ones listed above.

Homeland Housewares is the creator of NutriBullet system. They are also the makers of a similar product, Magic Bullet, which has caused similar injuries to consumers. Lawyers have argued that Homeland Housewares have knowingly sold a dangerous product without intentions of fixing any design flaws.
