Polaris Ranger XD 1500 Recreational Off-Road Vehicles Recall Lawsuit

Polaris Industries has recalled its Ranger XD 1500 Recreational Off-Road Vehicles (ROVs) with Winches. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC, are accepting new cases for recalled Side-by-Sides or UTVs.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the winch wiring can overheat while in use, posing a fire hazard and risk of serious injury to the rider or passenger. The September 19, 2024, recall includes about 10,500 vehicles.

The recall involves certain VINs of Polaris Model Year 2024 RANGER XD 1500 and RANGER CREW XD 1500 ROVs. The UTVs were sold in camouflage, red, and silver colors. The vehicles were sold in both three and six-seat configurations. “POLARIS” is stamped on each off-road vehicle’s front grille. The VIN is printed on the left rear frame on the driver’s side. The recall also involves 4,500 and 6,000 lb. winches.

There has been at least one fire involving the recalled Polaris Ranger ROVs. The CPSC warns consumers to stop using the vehicles immediately. The utility vehicles were sold at Polaris dealers nationwide from February 2023 through August 2024 for between $40,000 and $50,500.
