Quad Lock MAG Battery Pack Recall Lawsuit

Quad Lock’s MAG Battery Pack has been recalled. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker, PLLC, are currently accepting new cases for recalled portable lithium-ion battery chargers.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the lithium-ion battery pack in the chargers can overheat, posing a fire hazard. Lithium-ion batteries are known for a  risk called thermal runaway–a chain reaction where excess heat builds up, potentially leading to fires or explosions. This can cause severe burns, from first to third degree, to anyone nearby. The lawyers at Johnson//Becker have successfully tried multiple cases involving these defective batteries.

The November 7, 2024, recall includes about 14,000 Quad MAG Battery Pack wireless portable chargers. The power banks measure three inches long and two inches wide. “Quad Lock” is stamped in the plastic on the front, and the model number is stamped on the back of the battery pack.

There have been at least 39 incidents involving the MAG Battery Packs in the United States and over 170 reports worldwide. The charging packs were sold online at Quadlockcase.com and Amazon.com and through various third-party sellers from April 2023 through September 2024 for between $60 and $80.
