Rad Power has announced a recall of RadWagon electric bicycles, citing the risk of a crash hazard.
The recall was announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), which specified that the “rim strip on the tires can be misaligned, causing the tube to pop,” and that a “ribbed sidewall can unexpectedly go flat, risking serious injuries from loss of control and/or crash.”
The recall affects about 29,300 RadWagon 4 Electric Cargo Bikes. The recalled e-bikes were sold at between September 2020 and August 2022. The bikes were available at Rad Power stores nationwide, and online at radpowerbike.com
Rad Power has received 137 reports of tires blowing out, flattening, or detaching, resulting in eight crashes causing injuries, including a broken arm and a broken wrist.
Consumers in possession of the recalled Rad Power e-bikes are instructed to stop riding them immediately.
