The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Saxco International carboys due to the risk of injury. The recall was posted on Aug. 10, 2023.
According to the CPSC, the carboys (large glass jars used for holding and/or transporting various liquids) can break due to an “improper cooling process.” The shards are hazardous in that they may result in cuts or similar injuries.
Saxco International and the CPSC received 30 reports of the glass jars breaking. Approximately 8,370 units have been recalled.
The recalled carboys were sold in three, five, six and six point five gallon sizes. These jars also have the Saxco logo embedded at the bottom.
