On Sept. 28, 2023, Secura’s air fryers were recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), due to fire and burn injury risks.
According to the CPSC, one of the air fryer’s wire connections could overheat and lead to fire and burn injuries to consumers.
Nine incidents were reported of the air fryers catching fire, burning, and smoking.
Around 6,400 units were recalled, with an additional 680 in Canada.
What models are included in the air fryer recall?
The recall includes Secura air fryers with the following model numbers and date codes:
- Model number: SAF-53D (TXG-DT16E) | Date code: 1901
- Model number: SAF-53 (TXG-DS16) | Date codes: 1903 & 1904
Model numbers and date codes are printed on the silver labels at the bottom of the air fryer.
The CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled air fryers.
