On Dec. 7, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Security Equipment’s SABRE Aim & Fire pepper gel spray canisters due to failure to operate properly, especially in the case of an emergency.

According to the CPSC, the SABRE pepper gel spray canisters are missing a red nozzle at the top of the valve stem, which is supposed to deploy the pepper gel when triggered. The CPSC also reported that the canisters can fail to spray in defense during an emergency.

Approximately 4,000 products are included in the recall.

The recall includes SABRE Aim & Fire pepper gel spray with the model number SDP-G-03, with an expiration date of 09/2027. Expiration dates are located on the white label on the side of the canisters.

The CPSC instructs consumers to immediately stop using the recalled pepper gel spray canisters.
