The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of Sound Around’s children’s helmets due to the risk of head injuries. The recall was posted on June 22, 2023.
Why were the children’s helmets recalled?
According to the CPSC, the children’s helmets do not meet federal safety standards. The helmets could fail to protect a child’s head in a crash, resulting in a head injury.
Approximately 1,800 units have been recalled.
What models are included in the children’s helmet recall?
The recall involves all Hurtle multi-purpose children’s helmets with “Renegade” printed on the side. The helmets were sold in the following colors:
- Black
- Blue
- Pink
- White
- Red
The CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled helmets and destroy them by cutting the straps.
