On Dec. 7, 2023, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled Sourceone Ventures’ Windsor Queen Xtrabed due to the risks of tipping over and injuring users.
According to the CPSC, the cabinet at the front of the Murphy bed can break and fall over while opening the bed. The bed can also tip over if not anchored to the wall, posing trapping and injury hazards.
The CPSC received 19 reports of the Xtrabeds’ outer case breaking and falling while being opened. Eleven injuries have also been reported.
Approximately 12,000 beds are included in the recall, with an additional 275 sold in Canada.
All recalled Windsor Queen Xtrabed Mobile Murphy beds have a manufacturing date before May 2022.
The CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled beds.
